Let’s make the most of these last weeks of summer together! Did you know that Americans eat 15 pounds of watermelon annually, and as the weather grows warmer, so does the demand for this juicy fruit? So many melons are losing their rinds, being eaten at an alarming rate before they are even ripe, right in our own backyards! When you go to pack a picnic for your next summer outing, consider saving a watermelon and eating one of Sip and Ship’s homemade cookies instead.

The days of lugging around a bulky watermelon and beach blanket are over. Step inside Sip and Ship and let the decadent smells of the bakery take over your senses. Each and every one of our cookies is made with love and care by our talented baker, Emma. Easy to pack and transport, with less mess and more ease. While you’re in, browse our new selection of Rumpl blankets that allow you to travel and lounge comfortably anywhere in nature.

More importantly, you can pat yourself on the back for having completed your good deed for the day. By eating a cookie, you have saved the life of an innocent, precious watermelon and for that we applaud you!

Spend time outside in your favorite Seattle spots and enjoy the sunshine while you can. Starting at Lake Union, head for the nearest dock on the water. Geometry makes the only beach towel you’ll ever need - durable, stylish, and good for the planet because it’s made from recyclable plastics. End the day at Golden Gardens, wrapped in a Rumpl blanket by the bonfire. Gooey, toasted marshmallows between two of our chocolate crinkle cookies for the win!

All jokes aside, we love watermelons and none were hurt in the process of writing this newsletter. Eating fruit is part of any healthy diet, but we believe treating yourself is equally as important. Just know that a warm salted chocolate chip cookie and a friendly helping hand are always waiting for you here at Sip and Ship.
