Moments Worth Marking

For the milestones, the movements, and the everyday in between.

Seattle is stepping into one of its most vibrant stretches of the year.

The days are longer, the city is awake, and everything feels like it’s moving forward at once. Spring has fully arrived, carrying us toward summer with blooming trees, busy sidewalks, and a steady hum of anticipation.

Around the city, energy is building in every direction. The Mariners are in first place, FIFA World Cup excitement is taking shape, the Seahawks are building toward a strong comeback, and the Seattle Storm are lighting up the court. From stadiums to neighborhoods, there’s a shared sense of momentum—something special is happening here.

This week in Phinneywood, color is leading the way.

The Rainbow Hop arrives this Saturday, and with it, our shop becomes part of a larger celebration of connection, creativity, and Pride Month in Seattle. From our rafters, a cascade of rainbow ribbons will flow through the space—a simple visual reminder of something we believe deeply: this is a place where love is shared freely, and where people are welcome to show up fully as themselves.

As part of the celebration, guests are invited to take part in a small, meaningful gesture— tying a ribbon to a backpack, wrist, or piece of clothing, or taking one to share with someone else. A soft expression of pride and belonging, grounded in respect and openness, and offered in the spirit of community.

And alongside these community-wide events, life continues in deeply personal ways.

Graduations are unfolding across the city and beyond—young people stepping into what comes next, including our own son, Jack, among them. New life is arriving too, with teammate Caroline and her partner Trevor welcoming baby Cooper into the world. Father’s Day brings reflection, gratitude, and first-time meaning for some, and long-held traditions for others.

These are the moments that shape us. Not just the milestones themselves, but what they represent—becoming, shifting, growing.

At Sip and Ship, we have the privilege of seeing these transitions every day. Last week alone, we helped pack and ship an entire collection of electronic equipment as one customer prepared for a major move. We carefully packed a beloved horse-and-rider toy collection being passed into a third generation of fans and collectors. We supported customers relocating across the country and others beginning new chapters around the world.

Behind every box is a story.

Sometimes it’s excitement. Sometimes it’s nostalgia. Sometimes it’s a fresh start. Often it’s all three. That’s why packing is one of the services we’re most proud to provide.

Bring us the items that matter to you, and we’ll take care of the rest. From careful packing to safe shipping, our team handles the details so you can focus on the moment itself—whether you’re sending something across town or across the world.

Of course, not every moment is about shipping.

Sometimes it calls for a handwritten note, a thoughtfully chosen card, or a simple message that says, “I’m thinking of you.”

There used to be an app for that. Now there’s a card for that.

Our card collection is built for exactly these moments. Many are created by talented women artists whose work brings humor, beauty, honesty, and heart to the words we sometimes struggle to find ourselves.

And when life requires a signature along the way, we’re here for that too. Mobile notary services are available by appointment.

Whether it’s marking a city-wide celebration, a neighborhood gathering, a personal milestone, or a shipment carrying something meaningful across the globe, what we’re really doing is helping people mark moments in real time.

This season is full of them.

And they’re all worth marking.
